Our approach
Soulful Horse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by three horse-loving women who recognized a growing need to support youth in our community as they navigate life's challenges. Believing in the profound connection between humans and horses, we created a unique program that uses equine-assisted, theme-based lessons to inspire growth, resilience, and self-discovery.
Students enter our program through an application process and embark on a journey of learning and personal development. As they engage in hands-on experiences—caring for, grooming, and handling horses from the ground—they also explore meaningful life lessons. Guided by herd dynamics, we discuss essential themes like communication, trust, and belonging, drawing powerful parallels between the way horses interact and the relationships in our own lives.
At Soulful Horse, we believe that horses have an extraordinary ability to teach, heal, and guide. Through their wisdom, we help young individuals find confidence, connection, and a sense of purpose.
A space from the heart of hope, love and healing
All our lessons commence at the North Gait Horse Co boarding, training and lesson facility. We have the use of thier indoor and outdoor arenas, round pen, 60 acre wooded trail system and many of their lesson horses.
In-person lessons
Lessons are offered out of North Gait Horse Co. located West of Pequot Lakes, MN off of Co Rd 17 and Hwy 1.
